God’s Strategy for Success

#1 I Am Anointed

It’s quite normal for us, as humans, to desire something new for our lives. New dreams – new endeavors – new circles of influence. We pray for God to give us new areas of life that will have impact in our environment, but what if something new isn’t what God wants for us? What if He simply wants us to continue what we’re already doing empowered by an anointing that gives life a fresh, new enablement? For you, the term, Anointing, may simply be a “church” word. Allow me to load it up a little. Anointing indicates that a person has been singled out by God for special favor and responsibilities. It is that powerful presence of God that equips, empowers, and enables us to do what God has called us to do. Anointing is not a halo of entitlement but is an empowerment to achieve.

#2 Grow Your Gift

As Christians we desire to move forward in our relationship with God. We pray for God to give us chances to grow and increase our gifts – make the team, get the promotion, become better at what we do. We can trust in the power of prayer, but there is more than just asking God to use the talents He’s put inside us. Behind every gift there is a grind. We must maximize our unique talents and develop all that God has entrusted to us.

#3 Power Up Passion

What does passion have to do with your attitude? Let me give you a refrigerator quote concerning this:

Passion is the fuel that drives the engine of accomplishment!

I love passionate people. At times I have said, and I certainly have heard others say, “Man, that guy tries too hard!” One of the things that I have really come to respect in people as I have grown older is a passionate attitude that drives them to try too hard! It is so much better than being passionless and not trying at all.
I want to be a person of passion! How about you?

In this encounter with Goliath, David exhibits tremendous passion.

#4 Keep Your Distance

In this message we’re going to look at the battles we fight. How do you approach the enemies in life that you face? It is vital to keep your distance from the enemy. The scripture is full of admonitions that encourage us to separate ourselves from this world. There is a reason for that! It doesn’t matter how big the enemy’s sword is, if we don’t get close enough to let him hit us with it!
It’s not the size of the weapon that determine the outcome. It’s the distance!

#5 Act As If

In the final message of this series we are going to see David’s advantage. It’s not so much about a skill as much as it is about a spirit.
It’s not a technique but a trust that gave him the real advantage. Can we agree that the battles of life don’t get easier as we grow older? They also don’t get easier as we grow more mature in the Lord, but know this, as a believer, we have the advantage in all these struggles but very few of us act on it. Maybe it is because the ones that do realize it and act on it make it look so easy, we want to quit when it’s hard for us. We all have the advantage as believers!
