Not only is he famous for baseball, Yogi is also renowned for his wit. He has amused many with statements such as, "Half the lies they tell about me aren't true" and "If you don't know where you are going, you will wind up somewhere else." Just before his New York Mets rallied from behind to win the division title on the day before the 1973 season ended, he made what is probably the most quoted "Yogi-ism" of all time:
