Not only is he famous for baseball, Yogi is also renowned for his wit. He has amused many with statements such as, "Half the lies they tell about me aren't true" and "If you don't know where you are going, you will wind up somewhere else." Just before his New York Mets rallied from behind to win the division title on the day before the 1973 season ended, he made what is probably the most quoted "Yogi-ism" of all time:

One fact about God is He never runs out of ways to teach us new truths or challenge us in our relationship with Him, but I believe one of His favorite ways is through our relationships with children. My son's daughter, Jolie, was almost two years old at the time. It was the Holiday season and attendance at the Christmas program her preschool was conducting was a requirement for Gram and Papa.
