Keith & Tanya Thrash

Married since 1977 and serving in ministry together for just as long, we’ve seen and experienced God do so much in our lives and in the lives of others to whom He has called us to minister, but a longing for something more began to stir in our hearts many years ago. It seemed impossible, uncomfortable, and “we had never done it like that before!” But God . . .

God gave us the push we needed to take the step of faith required and begin a brand new thing – a journey with Him we named Freedom River. There’s a passage of Scripture our congregation quotes to kick off our Sunday morning worship each week: “But forget all that! It is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do a brand new thing! See? I have already begun. Do you not see it? I will make a new pathway through the wilderness for my people to come home. I will create rivers for them in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 We quote that passage every week, because that’s what we’re all about at Freedom River – encouraging people to let go of the past, because it is nothing compared to the brand new thing God wants to do in them; to lay aside the limitations they’ve placed on themselves and God, because He’s bigger than that; and to grab hold of the promises and provisions that deny explanation, because God is still in the business of amazing us!

We hope you’ll come join us on the journey!
